The data room is a space at the Masindi District headquarters dedicated to inputing, accessing and sharing open data.
Data collection is still a challenge at the district, mainly due to limited resources. Ideally, a mobile device in the hands of every data collector (Parish Chiefs and Town Clerks) would be a major step towards solving this problem, but the District lacks funding for such an intervention.
The Data Room is a step in the right direction. It provides data collectors with a dedicated device (currently a desktop computer) for data entry.
For those seeking data, the Data Room is available, either with supervised access or secure access via login credentials.
